Easy 4 Ingredient Valentine Cookies for Babies and Kids

These Banana Oat Valentine Cookies for Babies and Kids are super easy and fun to make with toddlers! With just 4 ingredients, these soft, heart-shaped cookies are perfect for an afternoon snack or as a meal for babies just starting solids. These are my go-to quick recipe during February to get babies and toddlers involved in the Valentine's Day festivities while enjoying a healthy treat!
Ingredients
- 1 very ripe banana
- 3/4 cup quick oats
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Mash the banana with a fork in a mixing bowl.
3. Add the oats, unsweetened applesauce, and cinnamon to the bowl.
4. Stir well to combine.
5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
6. Place heart shaped cookie cutters or any other shapes you'd like on the parchment paper. Fill the cookie cutters with the oat cookie batter and lift the cookie cutters straight up to keep the shapes intact.
7. Bake cookies for 15-20 minutes and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Cookies will stick together better once they are cooled. Enjoy!
Notes
Enjoy the cookies as is or drizzle with creamy nut or seed butters and top with sliced fruit. These are suitable for 6+ months but be sure to cut fruit age-appropriately.
Add ins: feel free to add in flax seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, or chopped fruit like berries or kiwi. I haven't experimented with these yet but be aware they may change texture or cooking time.
